Encounters.uk went online in September 2014 with three sections: Single, Casual and Mature. Single Encounters was the one for relationships then, and it still is.

The thinking behind the split was simple. Someone hoping to meet a partner and someone looking for a bit of fun want different things, and both have a better time when they aren’t wading through each other’s profiles. So each section has its own members and its own sign-up, and you choose the one that matches what you want.

Twelve years on, Encounters.uk has four sections, with Milf Encounters the newest. Single Encounters keeps its focus, and its address: you’ll find it at single.encounters.uk, where it has been since 2014. It’s for singles ready for something real, whatever their age. Women make up most of the section, and the bulk of members are between 25 and 54, with more aged 35 to 44 than any other group.

It suits people at very different points in life: someone in their late twenties who knows what they want, someone starting over in their forties, someone who has put work first for a while and is ready to make room for a partner. If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.

Everything points towards a first date

It all begins with your profile. You add photos and say what you’re looking for, and Single Encounters suggests matches every day based on it, along with age, distance, lifestyle, interests and religion. You can swipe, send messages, post updates, comment and take part in polls and quizzes. VIP and VIP Plus add unlimited messaging and more ways to be seen.

It all runs in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install. Our features page explains each part in detail, and every plan is listed on our pricing page, in pounds, with what renews and what doesn’t.

Kind, honest and single: our house rules

We ask every member to follow six simple rules. They’re mostly common sense, and they make Single Encounters a better place for everyone in it.

Be single: This section is for people who are unattached and ready to start a relationship. If you’re already with someone, it isn’t the place for you.
Be 18 or over: Single Encounters is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to join.
Be yourself: Use your own recent photos, and be honest about your age, your situation and what you’re hoping to find.
Be kind: Reply when you can. If you’re not interested, a polite “thanks, but no” is better than silence.
Respect a no: If someone stops replying, says they’re not interested or blocks you, let it go.
Never ask for money: No member should ask another for money, gifts or bank details, for any reason.

Mature Encounters: grown-up dating for singles in their 40s, 50s and beyond, and one of the original three.
Casual Encounters: adult fun without the strings, also there from the start. Adults only.
Milf Encounters: the newest section, adults only, where experienced women meet younger men.
